Homework

Published by Colin Becker

Boys are set homework on each day that they have a maths lesson, excluding fridays.

All students work at different rates which makes it difficult to set the exact amount of homework relevant to all.

Therefore, sufficient homework is usually set to cover all abilities.

Boys are required to do about 20 minutes of maths homework – it does not matter if they do not finish the homework. For this group, it is particularly important to avoid anxiety related to mathematics.

If your son has difficulty remembering how to do the homework or completes the set work in less than the 20 minutes, then I have encouraged them to create their own homework. For example, they could write some addition, subtraction, multiplication or division sums out and solve them.

Or, download and print the pdf file below. Your son can complete all the facts and then you could ask them verbally 2-3 times. addition-facts-1.pdf
